Located in the Campanhã district of Porto, nestled within the 4 hectares of Parque de São Roque, Casa São Roque (formerly Casa Ramos Pinto) is an elegant 18th-century mansion converted into a contemporary art center in 2019. Originally built in 1759 and renovated in the early 20th century by José Marques da Silva in an eclectic style with art nouveau influences, today it stands as a striking example of the fusion between historical architecture and modern creativity.
The exhibition program is based on the prestigious Peter Meeker Collection (Pedro Álvares Ribeiro), featuring over 600 works by national and international artists including Ana Jotta and other contemporary authors, displayed in dialogue with the interior architecture.
The exhibition design pays particular attention to the domestic context, highlighting the glass and iron winter garden as the central scenic space.
