The Musée de la Vie Romantique is a Paris museum located in the Montmartre district. The museum is dedicated to the 19th century artistic movement of Romanticism. The museum houses testimonies and memories of this artistic and literary period. The museum is housed in a hôtel particulier once belonging to Ary Scheffer, a Dutch naturalized French painter, who from 1830 hosted the main exponents of the Parisian romantic scene such as Delacroix, Ingres, Liszt, Chopin, Sand and Béranger. In the Musée de la Vie Romantique it is possible to admire portraits, mobile sculptures and jewels. Also present are the plaster casts of Sand's arm and Chopin's right hand. You reach the museum after crossing a tree-lined avenue and a garden surrounded by rose gardens that reflect the evocative and typical atmosphere of the Montmartre district.
