The Grande galerie de l'évolution is an exhibition space that is part of the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris. It is located in the northern part of the Jardin des Plantes. The museum shows and stages the diversity of living beings and the evolution of life through an important collection of naturalized specimens, organized according to an environmental and evolutionary approach. Inside, the visitor will be able to observe gigantic skeletons of marine mammals: the southern whale and the blue whale; the skeleton of Wheke, the only preserved specimen of giant squid in the world. And again, on the first floor there are numerous other specimens of naturalized animals, including the elephant and various animals of the savannah. Further adjoining rooms are the Threatened Species and Extinct Species Room, where you can admire a giant tortoise and a whole black Emu skeleton.
Inside the museum, thanks to an increase in the original ticket price, it is also possible to visit the Galerie des Enfants, where natural history is designed for visits by children aged 6 to 12, with workshops and learning paths; the Cabinet de Realité virtuelle, a permanent room entirely dedicated to virtual reality.
