The Regional Museum of Palazzo Mirto is located in the historic center of the city of Palermo. The Palace is a wonderful eighteenth-century complex which today houses the Regional Museum. The museum collection consists of works and objects that illustrate the way of life of the nobility of the time. The tour starts from the lower floor with the rooms that were used as services, stables, kitchens, storage for carriages, warehouses for food and storage for straw and hay. The noble floor or first floor preserves a series of sumptuous furnishings, in sequence: the Novelli room, the "Salvator Rosa" living room, a series of lounges named in pink, yellow, yellow and green and finally the Sala del Baldacchino and the Hall of the Tapestries. In the latter environment, the family's official celebrations and ceremonies were held with the aim of enhancing the family, its prestige, and above all represented a good opportunity to reaffirm the class of belonging. The second floor of the building was intended for the daily life of the family. The floor consists of several intimate rooms, furnished with great elegance and taste. It is still possible to visit the bedroom of the princes, the dining room, the two libraries and a sequence of studies and living rooms with refined decorative elements.
