La Réserve Zoologique de la Haute-Touche is a zoo and safari park located in Obterre, in the Center Val de Loire region of France. It is part of the National Museum of Natural History. This park covers an area of 500 hectares, of which 100 are open to the public. It is therefore one of the five largest zoological parks in France. The reserve is exhibited in five areas, corresponding to the five continents. The zoo was born in 1958, but only opened to the public in 1980. Inside, there are about a thousand animals of 85 different species. The visitor can discover the park on foot, by car, by bicycle, or even on horseback. In addition, the park is included in the research and conservation actions aimed by the National Museum of Natural History, encouraging the reproduction, breeding or reintroduction of endangered species in their natural contexts. The park is open from April to November.
