The Stadtmuseum im Fembo-Haus (civic museum in Casa Fembo) is a museum in Nuremberg dedicated to the history of the city. The museum is housed in the only large trading house from the late Renaissance that still exists in Nuremberg. Opened in 1953, the city of Nuremberg is presented along 950 years of history: from its rapid rise to one of the great European centers of politics, from the development of trade and art in the Renaissance, to the difficult reconstruction after the Second World War. During the visit it is possible to observe the original rooms of the house, including the "Vorplatz", a hall with a magnificent stucco ceiling. The rooms on the first floor, all richly decorated with stuccos, are dedicated to the period of the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The objects produced in Nuremberg are presented together with the portraits of scholars and intellectuals of the city and sound recordings of the vast musical production produced over the centuries. The museum itinerary is also enriched by installations and audiovisual supports that help immerse the visitor in the atmosphere of the various historical periods.
