The Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery is a local history museum located in the beautiful gardens of Riversley Park, just a few minutes' walk from the center of Nuneaton. The life of novelist George Eliot is told. Admission to the museum is free and offers an interesting program of exhibitions, events and activities for a wide range of visitors. The permanent exhibits are related to local history, fine arts and George Eliot himself. In particular, the exhibition of local history exhibits artifacts related to the coal mining industry of the village and objects dating back to the first and second world wars. On the first floor of the museum building, the Pinacoteca showcases some of the museum's art collections. On display are exciting works, such as Savery's "Before the Deluge" and Prinsep Beadle's "Battle of Vitoria". There is plenty for children in this room too, as musical instruments and a puppet theater await the little ones.
