Nottingham Contemporary opened in 2009, and has presented more than 50 exhibitions since then. It is housed in the iconic green and gold building with its concrete facade set with a mid-19th-century cherry blossom lace by Richard Birkin. Nottingham Contemporary organizes ambitious international art exhibitions as well as the topics covered. We remember The Place is Here (2017), States of America (2017), Incontri e collisioni by Glenn Ligon, From Ear to Ear to Eye (2018). Nottingham Contemporary is also an important support place for artists throughout their careers. Works are often commissioned to well-known artists such as Lara Favaretto and Simon Starling.
