The Abington Park Museum in Northmampton is the best place to learn about the history of Abington. The museum, a beautiful Tudor-style house, is based in one of Northampton's most famous parks. The museum's various galleries, divided into five themed areas, trace the history and development of Abington, from its beginnings as a medieval manor until it became an attractive suburb of Northampton. Starting with the military galleries, these tell the story of the Northamptonshire Regiment and the Northamptonshire Yeomanry. The war dead of the Regiment and the Yeomanry are commemorated here on commemorative panels or commemorative books. The "Cradle to grave" gallery celebrates and commemorates life in Northampton from 1800 to 1950 through stories of births, marriages and even deaths.
