30 November 2021
Great success for the crowdfunding campaign launched in spring 2021 by the Amici di Capodimonte Ets association to purchase an important porcelain plateau from the Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea for the collections of the Museum and Real Bosco di Capodimonte. A work thus enters the museum's collections, studied by Angela Caròla Perrotti, a great connoisseur of the manufacture in which the famous painting Hercules at the crossroads by Annibale Carracci (1595-96) is reproduced, among the masterpieces of the Farnese Collection, which arrived in Naples in 1734. The high technical and decorative quality, the perfect state of conservation and the exceptional nature of the subject depicted explain the importance of purchasing the plateau: in fact, in the museum's rich collection of porcelain, there are no other objects on which it is taken a painting from the collection, depicted with such skill, testimony of the perfect dialogue between painting and decorative art.
Tuesday 30 November 2021 at 11.00 am, the plateau will be presented to the press and to the public by the director of the Museum and Real Bosco di Capodimonte Sylvain Bellenger and by the president of the Amici di Capodimonte ets Errico di Lorenzo in an installation that places it in dialogue with the historian painting by Annibale Carracci, an oil on canvas of 1596 among the first works made by Annibale Carracci in Rome for Cardinal Odoardo Farnese, the painting was the center of the vault of the Camerino di Ercole in the Palazzo Farnese in Campo de 'Fiori.
