The Department of Development and Promotion of Tourism of the Campania Region and the Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts / Museo Madre present the exhibition project Parco dell'Arte Contemporanea in the Vallo di Diano. Works, ideas, projects, people from the Madre collection, created on the occasion of the 30th Summer Universiade Naples 2019 and Matera European Capital of Culture 2019.
A meeting place between different cultures and ecosystems , often referred to as a “cultural landscape”, the internal Cilento and the Vallo di Diano were the scene of the so-called Conspiracy of the Barons (1485 and 86). A founding episode of the national and supranational identity of modern Europe starting from which this exhibition, together with the La Congiura dei Baroni project, retraces a historical path that connects, in a new cultural and tourist itinerary, the cities and communities of Naples , Vallo di Diano and Matera / Miglionico.
In particular, the exhibition Works, ideas, projects, people from the Madre's collection, curated by Andrea Viliani and Silvia Salvati, aims to promote new contemporary art itineraries in the Campania region, articulating itself in some historical and naturalistic sites of the Vallo di Diano : the Castle of the Sanseverino Princes (now Macchiaroli), the Cloister of the Convent of the Santissima Pietà in Teggiano and the Caves of Pertosa-Auletta, thus joining the previous projects presented at the Certosa di San Lorenzo in Padula, from which the Art Park contemporary origin: the review The works and the days (2002-2004), curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, and the VB82 performance by the artist Vanessa Beecroft, created in 2017 as part of the Il Cammino delle Certose initiative.
