From 8 June to 19 September 2023
Ernesto Terlizzi closes the cycle of works dedicated to refugees and the Mediterranean, which began ten years ago with the solo show in Milan "Apologia della superfice" at Spazio Tadini and then again in Ferrara, Galleria del Carbone with the exhibition "Derive" and finally that of Rome at “StudioS” by Carmine Siniscalco.
An epochal drama, of great relevance, now uncontainable and very complex to face, on which the author has continuously focused his artistic gaze since 2013. For this exhibition, he does so by inserting the unmistakable icon of a winged putto from Pompeian painting. The rooms of the Farnesina host a body of 20 works of different formats, all mixed techniques created on hammered and framed Kozo Thai paper on which the artist marks, glues and tears papers and cardboards to build and tell, between sky and sea, places and refugee shapes, through the unmistakable ink sign of his rigorous black and white.
The exhibition is curated by Marco di Capua, with the Matronato of the Madre Museum of Naples, the Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts and the patronage of the Filiberto and Bianca Menna Foundation together with the Spazio Tadini House Museum of Milan.
