The exhibition Sensitive encounters: Paolo La Motta looks at Capodimonte, brings the work of the Neapolitan artist Paolo La Motta (1972) to the Museum and Real Bosco of Capodimonte for the first time.

Paolo La Motta's work relates to some works in the museum, chosen by him, of different techniques and different eras, soliciting an unusual reflection on art, as a history of sensitivity, and allowing unexpected meanings to be revealed.

The artist says that as a boy, playing in the Capodimonte Wood after closing time, he was afraid to jump over the surrounding wall.

We like to think that the young Paolo never really left the Bosco di Capodimonte, and that his fears were overcome with his art that comes from an uninterrupted dialogue with the works of the large collection of the museum.

The plastic sensibility of his works is not a prisoner of a specific school or a single artistic era: the Neapolitan Renaissance, the seventeenth century, the nineteenth century and abstractionism, discovered right in the Bourbon Palace, are well combined in his paintings.

La Motta is interested in all the possibilities of the pictorial language and makes her work irrefutable proof of the role that the Capodimonte Museum has had and continues to have on contemporary art.
