From 28 June to 3 September 2018
The exhibition will retrace the way in which the discovery of the great Campania archaeological sites influenced intellectuals and artists, from the eighteenth century to the dawn of the twentieth century. Present: the ring of King Charles of Bourbon, the notebook with watercolor drawings and annotations by the English nobleman William Gell, the first cartographic representation of Pompeii by the naturalist-botanist François de Paule Latapie, the corpus, assembled for the first time, of three plans of Pompeii and Herculaneum by the Swiss engineer Karl Jakob Weber.
