The La Milanesiana Festival arrives in Campania for the first time, conceived and directed by Elisabetta Sgarbi, which for the 2020 edition inaugurates the partnership with the Donnaregina Foundation for contemporary arts / Madre museum with an absolute preview exhibition dedicated to the photographic gaze of Carlo Verdone, open from 30 July to 1 November 2020.

The exhibition, curated by Paolo Mereghetti and Elisabetta Sgarbi , will see 42 unpublished shots of the great Roman actor and director, who for the first time shares his passion for photography with the public. A colorful tale of the sky and a poetic journey into real and fantastic forms that the artist's eye captures in the apparent randomness of nature.

My camera - says Verdone - always points high, towards the sky . It always amazes me, fascinates me, reassures me, worries me. It attracts me because it is never the same. Sometimes it seems like God's mood. Other times an immense page where I find mysterious phrases and drawings written by the clouds. But we need to hurry, to grasp the meaning in an instant before everything falls apart and dies out. Before the sun, sinking into the horizon, turns off the light on the divine ceiling. "

On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, Thursday 30 July at 20.00, the courtyard of the Madre will host a special evening, which will see Carlo Verdone in dialogue with the critic of Corriere della Sera Paolo Mereghetti, with speeches by Elisabetta Sgarbi and Laura Valente.
