The Center for Contemporary Art Il Conventino is located in the city of Monteciccardo, in the province of Pesaro Urbino. The museum was born thanks to the donations of some artists who participated in the "Borderline" contemporary art exhibition in the eighties. In 2003 the collection was cataloged, documented and made available to the public through the setting up of five rooms located in the Cloister. About fifty works by historicized Italian and foreign artists are on display. The works are sculptures, installations, paintings, photographs, drawings; almost all the works were made in the 1980s except for a small group of new works acquired in 2003, signed by young artists from the Marche region. Among the most important works are an iron installation by Eliseo Mattiacci, a wooden sculpture by Hidetoshy Nagasawa, an environmental installation by Claudio Costa, an installation by Christian Cassar, a shaped iron sculpture representing "Prue" by Gabriele Giorni . The Museum also offers various opportunities for reflection on contemporary art, through temporary exhibitions and art teaching workshops for schoolchildren.
