The Mac, n - Museum of Contemporary Art and the Twentieth Century of Monsummano Terme is located in the historic city center. The Museum is located in the spaces of the Villa Renatico Martini, built in 1887 by the architect Cesare Spighi at the behest of Ferdinando Martini. Of great interest is the neoclassical style architecture with original decorations and stuccoes. Some examples of original furnishings and coffered ceilings remain on display. The Museum houses a vast collection of works of painting, sculpture and graphics. Among the works present in the collection are the artists Pietro Annigoni, Ferdinando Chevrier, Lamberto Pignotti, Vinicio Berti, Eugenio Miccini and Ketty La Rocca. A small group of works from the “Il Renatico” civic collection are also part of the collection. The Museum hosts temporary exhibitions of artists linked to the Tuscan and international sphere. Of great importance is the collection of volumes and magazines of the sector for a total of about 1201 volumes and catalogs.
