Vito Zaza introduces his latest work in this way, a series of 20 terracotta bas-reliefs dedicated to the theme of Motherhood.
"From Silence to Mystery: a journey into violated motherhood" is an exhibition of unpublished works, created between 2009 and 2012 with a profound social intent. The artist analyzes, starting from a journalistic article on the international network - Talità Kum ('Rise Up') - about Catholic nuns fighting against the trafficking of women forced into prostitution, the theme of Motherhood from a new perspective.
To enrich the exhibition, there are some black and white photographs by Roberto Lusito and two series of unpublished color drawings: "Fragments" (2014) and "Ruins" (2013), which represent a reflection on the life and career of the artist himself, retracing some iconographies he has used over decades of activity and recurring symbolism.
The exhibition is open from May 3 to September 8, 2024, with free admission in the new spaces attached to the Diocesan Museum of Molfetta.
