From 16 December to 5 May 2019
Curated by Stefano Bulgarelli, Francesca Piccinini and Luciano Rivi
With a wide selection of works from public and private collections and an engaging installation, the exhibition created by the Civic Museum of Art in collaboration with the Modena Visual Arts Foundation and the Civic Museums of Reggio Emilia , offers an unprecedented insight into the lively artistic climate and cultural heritage that characterized the two cities between 1962 and 1972.
Against the backdrop of widespread well-being, lifestyle changes and disruptive social transformations culminating in '68, the varied creative ferment is evident in the visual arts and theater, music, experimental poetry, design, architecture, graphics. , in comics and animation.
The convergence between institutional will and individual research reached an important moment in 1967-68 with the Fiumalbo event "Words on the walls", the first widespread national avant-garde event in which dozens of artists from Italy and abroad participate .
The initiative is accompanied by a scientific catalog and a rich calendar of appointments and didactic activities.
