The Roman Villa of Minori is located on the shores of the wonderful Amalfi coast. The Roman Villa is an archaeological site managed since 2014 by MIBACT. The Villa Marittima dates back to the beginning of the 1st century AD. The building was originally on two levels and the stuccoes and the remains of the frescoes are still visible. Very interesting is the area that in ancient times was dedicated to the thermal baths with the triclinium and the respective rooms for hot and cold water. The terrace on the upper floor is connected to the antique shop that collects the paintings and Roman material found near the area and the other villas. The rich pictorial decorations of the tripartite and of the interiors recall the Roman villas of the Julian - Claudian age. Of great interest are the recent discoveries after some renovation sessions of the building. In fact, during the first intervention in 1954, an underground chamber and new areas of the villa decorated with paintings were brought to light which are kept in the museum connected to the villa. The Antiquarium was born in the 60s following the numerous artifacts found during the excavations. The Museum holds a wide range of amphorae, mugs, jugs and plates.
