Forma per la Fotografia Foundation was founded in 2009 with the aim of promoting and supporting photography in Italy and abroad to the widest possible audience. An important meeting point and reference point for photography and its authors, in over ten years Fondazione Forma has carried out hundreds of initiatives, making a decisive contribution to photographic culture in Italy.

Since 2015, Fondazione Forma has been based in the Forma Meravigli exhibition space. Located in the center of Milan , in the historic Galleria Meravigli next to Piazza Cordusio, Forma Meravigli was born from the experience of the Foundation and Contrasto and thanks to the collaboration of the Milan Chamber of Commerce.

Fondazione Forma produces and organizes exhibitions of important Italian and international photographers , thematic , collective or emerging talents exhibitions on an ongoing basis at the Forma Meravigli exhibition space as well as at important museums and places dedicated to art and culture in Italy and to abroad.

Over time, great international authors (from Avedon to Mapplethorpe, from Cartier-Bresson to Capa) and Italians (Berengo Gardin, Nino Miglior, Mimmo Jodice, Mario Giacomelli) have alternated, new languages and styles, large retrospectives and thematic exhibitions. In the Forma Meravigli headquarters there is also a Print Room, curated by Contrasto Galleria, where expert collectors, but also those approaching art photography for the first time, can view a wide selection of collectible photographic works : from vintage and modern prints by great masters of photography, to works by emerging artists. There is also a specialized bookshop, organized by the Contrasto publishing house, where it is possible to find the most recent and important photographic publications, but also the classics of the history of photography and its authors, alongside young photographers, manuals and insights. monographs.

Furthermore, Fondazione Forma manages an intense and constant training and didactic activity, organizes study conferences on photography and other languages, promotes meetings with authors and book presentations, as well as dealing with the management and enhancement of photographic archives of masters of photography. such as Gianni Berengo Gardin and Piergiorgio Branzi. The result of all these activities is a great success with the public and an important recognition and authority at national and international level.
