Photography is once again the protagonist at the Stelline Foundation with the Alex Trusty Naples Sense of Place exhibition, curated by Luciano Bolzoni (8 - 29 May 2022).
Naples Sense of Place is a work that immediately defines the meaning of this extraordinary city, a Naples to which the photographer dedicates from time to time a privileged look, full of sensations and emotions that are diluted in every single vision of its spaces.
In this photographic project, the author always seeks the sense of place through a balanced dialogue between the single framed space and its placement in the grandiose landscape of the city. Photography becomes the story of a city that generates new visions and strong sensations, capable of touching the mind and soul of every individual, inhabitant, passenger or traveler.
In each of his shots, we find a reservoir of existence, of reality, of sincerity; we see the place with all its portions of life, architecture, views, gazes, humanity. Landscapes, therefore, like those of Naples, where the colors of the city, its social intersections, merge into a chromatism that has in black and white the value of the photographer's own gaze.
Alex Trusty is not just a photographer, but a protagonist of a heterogeneous world, full of meanings; he does not limit himself to observing because, from the many professional and personal paths that he walks, he shows the subsoil of life and of the places that he pursues with his camera.
