From 10 October to 13 January 2019
Curated by Marco Albertario and Francesca Tasso
The exhibition is an opportunity to present in Milan the recent restoration of the Madonna Tadini by Jacopo Bellini, carried out as part of the XVIII Edition of Restituzioni, the safeguard and enhancement program that Intesa Sanpaolo has been conducting since 1989 in favor of the national artistic heritage, and it offers the possibility of a cross-reading on the theme of the influence exerted by the Bellini workshop on the forms of the devotional tabernacle in Venice in the transition phase that follows the middle of the 15th century. The work, coming from the Galleria dell'Accademia Tadini, will be presented in Room XXIII of the Pinacoteca, which brings together some of the masterpieces of the civic collections, the Madonna in Glory and Saints (1497) by Andrea Mantegna, the Madonna and Child, saints and angels (1429-1432) by Filippo Lippi and the Madonna and Child (1460-1465) by Giovanni Bellini. Precisely the comparison with the Madonna by Giovanni Bellini and the praying Madonna by Jacopo da Cattaro (1462) of the Collections of Applied Art of the Castle allows us to deepen their scope and influences.
