closed OASIS

The show

From 20 September to 7 October, in the Pippa Bacca garden, Casa degli Artisti presents the project “ Oasis - 4 artistic installations for public green spaces ” by Simone Brambilla, Sara Laverde, Giacomo Morelli and Fabiana Sapia. The project was carried out with the artistic coordination of Gianni Caravaggio and thanks to the collaboration with the WWF and Green City Italia.

"Oasi" was born as part of the residence of the artist and teacher Gianni Caravaggio with his class of Sculpture at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts: a cycle of lessons and meetings on the relationship between the work and the surrounding space, held in the ateliers of the second plan of Casa degli Artisti, from March to July 2022. Parallel to this path, Caravaggio involved four of his students and graduates, each of whom he asked to give shape to a more in-depth research on the relationship between artistic work and the nature of the place that hosts it and then conceive and create a work that could be contextualized in the Pippa Bacca garden, located next to Casa degli Artisti. The project was welcomed and supported by the two realities that take care of the garden, WWF and Green City Italia.

Simone Brambilla, Sara Laverde, Giacomo Morelli and Fabiana Sapia - authors of the project - say: “Nature opens a relationship with what we are, through contemplation. This garden, which rises unexpectedly between the buildings of the Garibaldi district, opens up like a revelation; it immerses us in an oasis, which emerges in an inclusive exclusion from the city, with respect to what is visible and non-visible to our daily experience. It is a look, a seed that sprouts over time. " The project will also meet the public during the Milan Green Week, a period in which the garden becomes the center of activities related to green issues.
