From 7 March to 15 April 2023
From Tuesday 7 March 2023, Aperçues opens to the public, the solo exhibition by Nina Carini that comes to life in the spaces of the Basilica of San Celso in Milan . The exhibition project, curated by Angela Madesani and Rischa Paterlini, is organized with the patronage of the Lombardy Region and the Municipality 1 | The municipality of Milan.
The exhibition owes its title to the French word aperçues, which the artist encounters for the first time in the pages of the homonymous volume by Georges Didi-Huberman. Drawing inspiration from the idea of an ephemeral image, which appears and then vanishes, leaving behind a trail of questions and emotions, Nina Carini traces a path within the spaces of the Basilica of San Celso, pushing her research beyond the confines exploration of new tools and expressive media. In a game of balances between horizontal setting and vertical tension, Aperçues combines an important work from Enzo Nembrini's collection with works conceived for the occasion, including one created during his recent residency at the Fonderia Battaglia. The works underline the dialogue that is created with the particular architecture of the historic space that welcomes them.
