Photography returns as the protagonist at the Fondazione Stelline with the exhibition of Alex Trusty Naples Sense of Place, curated by Luciano Bolzoni (May 8 - 29, 2022).
Naples Sense of Place is a work that immediately defines what the sense of this extraordinary city is, a Naples to which the photographer dedicates a privileged gaze, rich in sensations and emotions that dilute in every single vision of its spaces.
In this photographic project, the author always seeks the sense of place through a balanced dialogue between the individual framed space and its placement in the grand landscape of the city. Photography becomes the story of a city that generates new visions and strong sensations, capable of touching the mind and soul of every individual, inhabitant, passenger, or traveler.
In each of his shots, we find a deposit of existence, reality, sincerity; we glimpse the place with all its portions of life, architectures, views, gazes, humanity. Landscapes, therefore, like those of Naples, where the colors of the city, its social intersections, merge in a chromatism that has in black and white the value of the photographer's gaze.
Alex Trusty is not just a photographer, but a protagonist of a heterogeneous world, full of meanings; he does not limit himself to observing because, from the many professional and personal paths he travels, he shows the underground of life and the places he chases with his camera.
