From 20 to 22 October 2023, the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan puts the spotlight on sculpture: in fact, Milano Scultura returns for its seventh edition, the only Italian fair exclusively dedicated to the plastic arts. With a parterre of around 40 artists and galleries , the new edition of the event on the one hand underlines its hybrid identity, between art fair and exhibition event with a strong curatorial profile, on the other it sinks its roots more and more in the Lombard capital through a series of initiatives that make the relationship with the city and with those who live in it. The exhibition, under the direction of Ilaria Centola and with the curatorship of Valerio Dehò, is organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and is proposed as a cultural hub, not only for artists and galleries – therefore for insiders – but also for a more heterogeneous public who can approach sculpture through an event far from the exclusivity that often characterizes the contemporary artistic world.

This path of approach and openness to the public is expressed, for example, in the organization of a public program, one of the novelties of this year, which through a cycle of talks brings together industry experts and visitors: journalists, curators, academic professors and exponents of the world of culture, moderated by the directors Ilaria Centola and Valerio Dehò, discuss the themes of sculpture, but also - more generally - those relating to the protection, conservation and enhancement of the heritage, being the sculpture among the languages most present in the field of public art.
