From 8 September to 6 January 2022
Fondazione ICA Milano presents the Cheerfully Optimistic About the Future exhibition, Michael Anastassiades' first solo show in Italy (Cyprus, 1967). The practice of Anastassiades, a London-based designer, where he started his own studio in 1994, explores contemporary notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of disciplines such as product design, furniture and environmental design, often transcending the distinctions between different areas of creativity. The creation of the exhibition, curated by Alberto Salvadori and developed by the Anastassiades studio during the last year, was accompanied by the desire to build a project with a strong "hand-made" component in the realization of the works, involving the artist personally and his collaborators.
