From 26 September to 8 November 2025
The ICA Milano Foundation, directed by Alberto Salvadori, presents to the public three new exhibition projects dedicated to the artists Oliver Osborne, Lewis Hammond, and Isabella Costabile. Through personal research and sensitivity, each artist addresses their own relationship with art, with personal dimension, and historical and social context. Through painting and sculpture, the works of Osborne, Hammond, and Costabile animate the spaces of the foundation, addressing themes such as the malleability of painting over time, the concept of faith in society, and the role of objects as devices of memory.
In a journey that alters and modifies the structure of the architectural space and its perception, Black Milk collects a selection of 20 paintings created by Lewis Hammond (UK, 1987) specifically for the exhibition between 2024 and 2025. Set up on the ground floor of the Foundation, the works reflect the artist's interest in the history of painting and his relationship with faith - understood in its transformative and social sense. From visionary and sometimes surreal tones, Hammond's painting practice moves between the personal and the collective sphere. Whether it's about esoteric interests, faith in people, social or romantic trust, or fear and hope, the artist places at the core of his research an open question: what do we place hope in today? A feeling that touches not only intimacy but also social, political, and economic systems. How and in what does man choose to nurture trust? And what does it mean to lose faith and hope?
