Thursday 23 May, at 6 pm the Permanent Museum inaugurates “I and LEONARDO. Permanente artists and Leonardo's legacy ” . The exhibition, curated by the Artistic Commission of the Permanente composed of Renato Galbusera, Giovanni Mattio and Armanda Verdirame, sees the participation of over one hundred and fifty artist members, including sculptors and painters, of different disciplines, techniques and ages. With the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and included in the Milan Leonardo 500 Palimpsest, the initiative stems from a reflection on the theme of contamination, identifying Leonardo da Vinci as the highest model. Far from wanting to be a tribute, a reinterpretation or a celebration, the Artistic Commission invited each individual artist to question themselves on the cultural legacy that the Renaissance Genius handed down to them, to discover the influences that derive from it on their work, or the dialectical relationship between his art and his innumerable interests or, again, the stimuli that can be obtained for a work that you want to propose authentic and current. Thanks to the large participation of the artist members of the institution, the exhibition itinerary presents the public with a rich and articulated overview of the multiple pictorial and sculptural languages of today. “Me and Leonardo. Artists of the Permanente and the legacy of Leonardo ”represents not only the element of greater continuity with the exhibition tradition of the Permanente, but also an important opportunity for updating on the different expressive forms that characterize the contemporary world. As part of the exhibition, the councilor of Permanente Enrico Provasi (Cabiate 1946- Barlassina, 2018) is remembered for his recent death, with an unpublished group of his works.
