Casa degli Artisti is pleased to present the exhibition Golfo Garibaldi – Studio Light, from Friday 26 May to Wednesday 14 June 2023, with the works created by Paul Goodwin during his residence in Casa degli Artisti, alongside historical works from galleries and collectors .

For Paul Goodwin, the invitation-only residency at Casa degli Artisti, a centenary center of culture and the arts in Milan, was a "return home". In fact, the English artist had his studio here, in the same spaces, on the second floor from 1984 to 2007, the year of the eviction and closure of the historic building. During the residency, held from February to April 2023, Goodwin created a series of medium and large format paintings which are now exhibited in dialogue with a selection of historical works. The whole corpus establishes a new level of reading which confirms Casa degli Artisti as the fulcrum of Goodwin's creativity and inspiration. The exhibition is spread over two levels: the historical retrospective is set up on the ground floor, while the works created during the residency are displayed on the second floor in the atelier where the artist worked.

Also presented and visible during the period of the exhibition are some current and historical documentary videos by director Ilvio Gallo, including one specially produced by Casa degli Artisti on the occasion of Paul Goodwin's residency.
