From 22 November to 22 December the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan (Spazio Alveare Culturale) hosts the personal exhibition of the artist Cesare Catania “Unpublished sketches. Where inspiration is born”, edited by Alisia Viola and with criticism by Ermanno Tedeschi.

The proposed exhibition offers the public the opportunity to enter into a relationship with the complex and dreamy world of an internationally renowned artist, investigating the value of the sketch as a single work of art and thus dispelling the common idea that it deserves dignity and value only finished work of art.

The sketch is experienced by the artist as a photograph of the soul, as a magical object that has the power to instantly stop and immortalize a feeling. In itself it contains the ability to grasp the soul of things and of the artist who is observing them, often more than a reasoned and constructed work of art is able to do. In the sketch we manage to grasp the beginning of a dream, the expressive genuineness, the maximum authenticity of the artist.

To complete the exhibition there are also 11 paintings and 7 sculptures including L'Abbraccio F Version, a monumental sculpture that 'debuts' in Milan for the first time - after having been exhibited in 2023 first in Piacenza in the gardens of the Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery and then in Venice at Palazzo Donà dalle Rose. More than 3 meters high and made of rusty steel, the sculpture "L'Abbraccio" (F Version) is proposed by Catania in a completely new and original reinterpretation to bring its work back into the spotlight and to the attention of public opinion. international socio-cultural project "L'Abbraccio", which aims to spread the concept of democratic and inclusive art.
