The Museo del Novecento presents Aldo Rossi. Design 1960-1997 curated by Chiara Spangaro, in collaboration with the Aldo Rossi and Silvana Editoriale Foundation , from 29 April to 2 October. With this exhibition, the Museo del Novecento continues the interdisciplinary dialogue between the arts, characteristic of the contemporary world, deepening the figure of the architect, designer, theorist and critic, among the protagonists of the visual culture of the twentieth century. For the first time, over 350 pieces of furniture and objects of use, prototypes and models, paintings, drawings and studies designed and created by Aldo Rossi from 1960 to 1997 are exhibited in a spectacular itinerary, a visual testimony of his activity as a designer , architect and theorist of architecture.

Rossi in all his production, from the first furniture made in 1960 with the architect Leonardo Ferrari, reflects on the relationship between the architectural and urban scale and the monumental and objectual one. Since 1979 he has opened up to the world of industrial production and high craftsmanship, creating furniture and products for use first with Alessi, then with Artemide, DesignTex, Bruno Longoni Atelier of furniture, Molteni & C | UniFor, Richard-Ginori, Rosenthal, Up & Up ( UpGroup today).

In almost twenty years of work he has developed more than 70 furnishings and objects , many of which are still in production today, experimenting with shapes and colors in the fields of metals and wood, marble and stone, ceramics and porcelain, handcrafted fabrics. and industrial and plastic materials.

The exhibition, whose installation project is designed by Morris Adjmi - MA Architects, collaborator and then associate of Rossi in New York, tells the universe of Aldo Rossi in nine rooms: each represents a world in which the relationship between graphic works emerges and artisanal and industrial products, with references to Rossi's architecture and private space.
