The Museum of Romanticism is an art museum located in Madrid, in Calle de San Mateo 13. Its founder was Benigno de la Vega Inclánsu and was inaugurated in 1924 originally with the name of Romantic Museum, which later became the Museum of Romanticism in 2009. In 1962, both the collection and the building were placed under the protection of the state as a historical-artistic monument.
The Museum of Romanticism is a real house museum, which implies a rich and heterogeneous collection with more than 17,000 objects
through which it is possible to deepen the aspects of a society, an era and an artistic period, namely Romanticism, which developed chronologically in Spain between 1833 and 1868.
