Gadagne Museum

The Musée Gadagne is a museum of Lyon museum center of Lyon that houses two different museums: the Musée d'histoire de Lyon (Museum of History) and the Musée des arts de la marionnette (Marionette Museum). The Museum is located in the Hotel de Guadagne, one of Lyon's historical architectural jewels and its largest historic building, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Building with typical Lyon Renaissance architecture, with a large courtyard, exposed stairways, monumental fireplaces and decorations from the 15th and 16th centuries and with terraced gardens. The Musée d'Histoire de Lyon houses the testimonies of the history of the city, from antiquity to the present day, in 30 rooms where it is possible to see objects, engravings, plants and documents that testify to the different eras. The Musée des arts de la Marionette, on the other hand, allows you to visit a collection of more than 300 puppets that was once part of the history museum. The Museum, unique in France, tells the origins of this art, not only in France but all over the world. The two museums are active in organizing many temporary exhibitions and events.
