Tomorrow, Saturday, July 6th at 6:00 PM at the former Granaries of Villa Mimbelli will inaugurate the exhibition "Summa. States of mind," a retrospective dedicated to the Livornese artist Ivo Lombardi, and will remain open until August 18, 2024.

The exhibition - organized by the Livorno Municipality with the contribution of Trossi Uberti Art Foundation (Livorno), Volterra Savings Bank Foundation and presented by the critical text of Giancarlo Bertoncini - tells the story of Lombardi's artistic journey from his beginnings in 1963 to the present day.

In the rooms on the first floor of the Granaries, around a hundred works including installations, paintings, artist's books, drawings, engravings, original prints, and sculptures will retrace Lombardi's research, always engaged in investigating themes such as the environment, memory, conflicts, and poetry.
Visitors will thus discover the early works of the 1960s dedicated to the changing cities, those of the 1970s where industrialization is a strong theme, works where material and forms take center stage such as Emerge and Leather Lands from the 1986-1996 decade. Leading to crucial works like Observing the planet (1998) or A future memory (1999), passing through the cycle of Artist's Books and the one on the Metamorphosis of language, both started in the 2000s.

Also present, among others, are the War Games of 1999 (recently revisited) and works dedicated to Emigrations, started in 2006. Finally, there will be more recent works created during the Covid-19 pandemic, representing a Suspended Time, with numerous large-format works and Artist's Books on the same theme.
