" Mira Maodus, le fil rouge de Montparnasse " is the title of the retrospective exhibition dedicated to the French artist of Serbian-Russian origin Mira Maodus, which will be held at the Fattori Granai Villa Mimbelli Museum in Livorno from 20 October to 20 November next.

The exhibition, sponsored by the Tuscany Region and the Municipality of Livorno, is part of the wider international project #celebratingmiramaodus 2022 (coordinated by Silvia Pampaloni from Livorno) which celebrates the artist on the occasion of his eightieth birthday. Museums, public and private galleries in Paris, Belgrade, Trebinje, Tokyo, Livorno and Toronto are dedicating solo exhibitions to Mira Maodus to highlight her contribution to the history of contemporary art.


In this Italian exhibition, curated by Silvia Pampaloni and Veronica Carpita, the synthesis of the artist's artistic path is proposed, influenced by his studies in Frankfurt, Venice, Paris and by his experiences collected all over the world, especially in Japan.

From her figurative beginnings inspired by German expressionism to her arrival in abstract art in the mid-1980s in Paris, Mira Maodus has focused her pictorial research on the harmony of composition. Letters, words, ideograms, Cyrillic characters, numbers, symbols of the past in his paintings are born again in dreamlike forms and vibrant colors. Abandoning himself to the rhythmic automatism of the brushstrokes, the artist's sign changes, transforms and becomes independent graphics, Often inspired by the words of the great world poetry (Arthur Rimbaud, Paul Verlaine, Aleksandr Puškin, Salvatore Quasimodo, Jovan Dučić) Mira Maodus of poetry have balance and metrics
