The De Lakenhal Museum makes the visual arts, applied art and history of Leiden accessible to as many people as possible, to inspire them and contribute to their personal development. The museum accomplishes is famous for its missions of recovery, conservation and presentation of the visual arts, applied art and history collections. It presents exhibitions of (inter) national importance based on Leiden sources and pursues the renewal of museum practice by developing adventurous and interdisciplinary projects, also in collaboration with external partners.
