The title of the exhibition, Il Monte degli Eremi , is taken from one of the short stories in the book "Terra Incognita" written and illustrated by me.
The value of the contemplative moment transpires through a series of works, in a surreal-dreamlike context, with different atmospheres and with clear references to medieval art and forms drawn from natural history such as, for example, shells from animals that lived millions of years ago. Some other titles, on the other hand, are inspired by the musical works of Bach, still others cite ancestral forms and others are inspired by biblical themes or real places such as the Castle of Lipari in the symbolic framework of this small but heartfelt exhibition. There is no shortage of references to Nordic art, such as in the sleeping Saint Joseph with the Angel or references to great monuments such as, for example, the oldest sculptures by Giovannino De Grassi for the Milan Cathedral.
