From 19 December to 16 January Lecco will host the photographic exhibition "Of rock and steel" at the exhibition halls of the Viscontea Tower

The photographic exhibition set up from Saturday 18 December to 16 January at the Torre Viscontea in Lecco is entitled "Of rock and steel". The exhibition presents 34 images by Giacomo Albo and Marco Introini documenting the transformation of the post-industrial landscape of Lecco.

The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Lecco and by Si.MUL as part of the annual program of city exhibitions, collects the photographic shots of Giacomo Albo and Marco Introini that testify the profound relationship between the natural landscape and the urban and industrial landscape in the city of Lecco.

The photographic itinerary proposed in the exhibition originates on the banks of the streams, in the narrow valleys, in the shadow of the rocky walls of the Corno Medale, where water became the driving force for the processing of steel. The architectural typology of the factories here still seems to share a measure with the prevailing historical building. Going down to the valley, the photographs show some productive realities "surviving" in continuity with the new settlements that have sprung up on the ashes of the previous sectors.
