The photographic exhibition "Afghana. Reportage from the Emergency maternity center in the Panjshir Valley" will open at Torre Viscontea on Friday, March 7 at 6 pm,
organized by the Municipality of Lecco in collaboration with Si.M.U.L., included in the 2025 exhibition calendar. 

The exhibition conceived by Emergency Group of Lecco and Merate will be open from March 8 to March 30, 2025. 

The exhibited photographs explore the stories of some Afghan women and their children, highlighting the challenges and hopes of a population facing difficult conditions, including stories of girls who have been able to fulfill their dream of becoming nurses and doctors. The exhibited photos, taken by photographer Laura Salvinelli with texts by Virginia Vicario, belong to a reportage carried out at the Emergency Maternity Center in Anabah, in the Panjshir Valley in Afghanistan.

The exhibition path, consisting of 25 photographs and 25 explanatory panels, guides us through the darkness of the delivery room where the photographs, with their particular focus, gradually reveal the details, up to the final dance of the newborn.
