The Kendal Museum is a local museum in the small town of Kendal, Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District in North West England.The museum, founded in 1796, includes different types of collections: from archeology, history and geology to collection of natural history repertories from around the world. The museum also offers an ever-changing program of exhibitions and events, walks and lectures. The rich collection of taxidermy and natural history are the highlight of the Kendal Museum. A stuffed polar bear and a model of a dodo are also kept here. In the spring of 2011, the Kendal Museum obtained the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme rating, awarded by Visit England.
