The Musee Christian Dior is a house museum in Granville, Normandy, entirely dedicated to the memory of the French designer. The museum is housed in the childhood villa of the designer, born in Granville in 1905. It was the summer villa of the Dior family, who settled in Paris in 1911. This 19th century villa, nicknamed "Les Rhumbs", had a large English garden overlooking the ocean, in which Madeleine Dior, Christian's mother, grew flowers which would have profoundly marked the career of the couturier, both for the clothes designed, which for the perfumes, which for the jewels of Victoire de Castellane. Roses, together with lily of the valley, which will later inspire the Diorissimo3 perfume, become the designer's favorite flowers. Later, Dior would say about the house: "My life and my style owe almost everything to its location and its architecture. […] Chalk of a very soft pink mixed with gray gravel, its two colors have remained my favorite shades ".

In the museum the biography of the designer is reconstructed and the history and development of the fashion house is told. The museum organizes a temporary exhibition every year showing the creations of the fashion house.
