AAA Animal Among Animals is an exhibition that brings together works by artists who look at the question of animalism.

The attention to the theme fits right into the context of an increasingly urgent critical reflection regarding the pressures to which the ecosystem has been subjected. The instability that our time has to face is in fact manifesting itself in its cogency. If the pandemic has exposed human vulnerability, the violence of the ongoing climate change has placed our species before its responsibilities towards every inhabitant of the planet, human and otherwise.

Phenomena such as drought capable of drying up rivers and burning woods up to a few kilometers from Gradisca, as well as floods and environmental disasters, have found every form of life unprepared in recent decades, leading a frightening number of living beings, plants and animals, to their death .

In this scenario, which has led us to experience the limits of our anthropocentric action, the connection between human and non-human animals becomes central. The type of relationship we want to redesign, the ability to recognize the other not as an object to be treated, but as a sentient subject to be respected, will contribute to decreeing our shared fate.

It is therefore urgent to adopt new perspectives by rethinking being in the world starting from a principle of coexistence. Even mealtimes, central to the rituals of every people, can be invested with a new conviviality where animal pain is absent and our impact on the planet can become lighter.

Art, with its ability to give shape to other scenarios, to open thresholds that have not yet been crossed, to identify unknown paths crossed by daring thoughts, has a lot to offer. United by the need to speak out in favor of a new ecosystem balance, the artists question the visitor and invite him to change his daily life by moving towards a future to be built, beyond geographical, cultural, ethnic, genus, class and species.
