Impression, Morisot will be the first major exhibition in Italy on the figure of Berthe Morisot (1841-1895), the only female painter to exhibit on April 15, 1874 in the studio of the photographer Felix Nadar, a date that marked the birth of Impressionism. 86 works, including paintings, etchings, watercolors, pastels, along with photographic and archival documents, many of which come from previously unseen loans from the Morisot heirs, allow us to retrace the life of the artist, who managed to reconcile family life and artistic career, and maintain fruitful relationships with the greatest artists of the time such as Renoir, Monet, Manet, Degas, but also with intellectual figures like Mallarmé and Zola. The exhibition presents scientific novelties related to her stays on the Riviera between 1881-1882 and 1888-1889 and the influence of Mediterranean light on her work, as part of the official celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, included in the commemorative season initiated by the Musée d'Orsay in Paris along with the exhibition in Nice "Berthe Morisot. Impressionist Journeys."
