Taquisara Cave

Welcome to Grotta Taquisara. A unique place, in the rock. You don't get there by chance, but you can get there by chance. It has always been that way. Beyond expectations, it amazes and is not forgotten. This experience is talked about and heard about. This is why we look for it, this is why we want to return.

This Cave is active and alive. The water circulations are almost everywhere, from the entrance, with seasonality. The living species that inhabit it arouse our curiosity. From small to very small, we know they are there, but they take refuge in the most distant ravines to protect themselves and hide from our eyes. Our motto is "look but don't touch", to safeguard and preserve, for future generations, this underground universe so different from our surface one. Along the approximately 250m of the tourist route on a safe walkway, you can admire a series of real natural monuments. “Stalactites” and “stalagmites” which often unite to form large and majestic “columns”, leaving “sails” on the sides and “flows” in the background, with roofs and vaults adorned with a huge quantity of “cannulas” and eccentric." Real "aragonite nests", with carbonate deposits that defy gravity. During the tourist journey, you come across the romantic lake, partly with a low roof and partly dominated by a large "diaclasis". Phenomena of "mountain milk" and chromatic variations of the carbonates occur in various parts of the cave, even within the same "halls".
