The Archäologisches Museum Frankfurt is an archeology museum in Frankfurt. Inaugurated in 1937, the museum is housed in the former Carmelite monastery in Frankfurt. The museum collection traces the archaeological history of the city of Frankfurt and its surroundings from the Neolithic to the early modern age. The finds come both from the excavations of the ancient Roman city of NIDA, located in today's historic city center, and from the former Jewish ghetto of Börneplatz. The collection is also completed by finds from the Ancient East and Classical Antiquity of the Mediterranean, with a view to a cultural exchange already present in ancient times, which has become part of our cultural identity. In addition to the ancient objects, it is possible to complete the route with a visit to the Kaiserpfalz franconofurd, a former archaeological garden where it is possible to see the remains of an ancient Roman bath, the walls of the Carolingian royal court and the late medieval cellars (not far from the museum , in Bendergasse 3, free admission).
