A story composed of over 200 photographs depicting private life and professional and civil commitment: from October 18, 2025 to January 11, 2026, the great Sicilian photographer Letizia Battaglia arrives at the Civic Museum San Domenico in Forlì with an exhibition presented for the first time in Italy, conceived and produced by CAMERA - Italian Center for Photography, from the Jeu de Paume museum in Paris, with the collaboration of the Letizia Battaglia Archive, and organized by the Cassa dei Risparmi Foundation of Forlì and the Municipality of Forlì.

LETIZIA BATTAGLIA. The work: 1970-2020, curated by Walter Guadagnini, explores the entire creative journey of Letizia Battaglia (1935 - 2022) through photographs, books, newspapers, and magazines from her archive, testifying to the variety of her interests and the continuity of her civil commitment.

Presented in 2024 at the Jeu de Paume in Tours and at the international festival Rencontres d’Arles in 2025, for the Forlì stage the project has been updated and enriched to include some unpublished photographs, 22 magazines with which the photographer collaborated and of which in some cases she was also the founder and editor, as well as a documentary film about her life.

The extraordinary heritage resulting from her work and her life is now part of the history of photography and Italian society, and the Civic Museum San Domenico is proud to reconstruct and bring back to the public the unforgettable shots of this extremely rigorous artist, who in the past had already woven a bond with Forlì and its cultural activities.
