The Civic Museum of the artistic productions of popular handicrafts is located in the city of Fontanarosa, in the province of Avellino. The Museum is located downstream of the town a few meters from the ancient inhabited center of the city. The Museum houses inside a very varied collection of finds up to contemporary art. For example, we see in the museum's outer space a copy of the Nike of Samothrace. Also of great importance are the two majestic mortars, made by the stonecutters of Fontanarosa with stone blocks of over 100 quintals. Also of great interest is the so-called “hall of the wagon” which houses the wooden chariot of Fontanarosa. The use of wood is a typical feature of the tradition of the Fontanarosa area. The other works present are the result of free donations by artists from both Italians and foreigners. On the ground floor of the museum there is the municipal library with a heritage of over 2000 volumes.
