Villa Carducci Pandolfini is located between Legnania and Soffiano the outskirts of Florence. The Palazzo is important for the frescoes inside this cycle by Andrea del Castagno who performed at 1455. The fresco is "Illustrious Men and Women", but much of the cycle was detached in 1847 and later purchased by the Grand Ducal government. In the main hall of the villa we have been reconstructed the missing drawings of the entire cycle of paintings. The frescoes depict nine famous people: Pippo Spano, Farinata degli Uberti, Niccolò Acciaioli, Cumana Sibyl, Queen Esther, the Queen Tomyris, Dante, Petrarch and Boccaccio. All important personalities in the history and literature of Florence or that are attributable to it. Other frescoes narrate the sacred history: a Madonna with child under the curtain pavilion opened by two angels joined by Adam and Eve. Other decorations are developed along the friezes with garlands, putti and heraldic coats of arms executed in 1472.
